DBX RTA-M Reference Microphone

Description

The RTA-M is an omni-directional, flat frequency measurement microphone specially designed to pick up all frequencies from 20 Hz to 20 kHz , ensuring accurate “pinking”/real-time analysis of your audio. It runs on phantom power (supplied by the Driverack units) and comes with a clip and case.

Designed to be used with DBX driverack the dbx RTA-M Reference Microphone works on systems beyond the dbx DriveRack series because it’s a standard, omnidirectional, phantom-powered condenser mic, compatible with any setup providing 9-52V phantom power and needing accurate room analysis. including  While optimized for dbx gear, its flat frequency response makes it great for general PA tuning, studio recording (acoustic guitar, piano), and even home audio analysis with spectrum analyzer software.

How it works with other systems:
Phantom Power: It requires 9-52V phantom power, common on most mixers and interfaces, so you just need an XLR cable.
Software: Connect it to a mixer or interface, then use DAW software (like FuzzMeasure Pro) or an audio analyzer app to see its frequency response.
Applications: Use it for general PA system optimization, as a room mic, or even for recording instruments like acoustic guitars or pianos, as users have found surprisingly good results in blind tests with high-end mics like the U87.

Key considerations:
Polarity: It’s pin 3 hot, so you might need to invert polarity in your software for certain setups.
